We started our spice blend with lots of paprika, not only because of its wonderful colour. In contrast to the rather plain vegetable pepper, which is hardly suitable for seasoning, spicy paprika brings an interesting aroma instead of a rushing hotness. Paprika gives the mixture an earthy, spicy, subtly hot flavour that always comes with a slight sweetness, in contrast to the hotness of chilli. A slight roasted aroma can also be detected. The best black pepper provides the camphorous, fresh tones, sea salt and garlic round off the taste. Not a mixture that wants to overshoot the mark, but the minimum requirement needed for a good chicken.
